Spring Update from Ward Robinson

Grand opening for Hampton by Hilton

Stockton on Tees has a brand new addition to its town centre and riverside – the five storey Hampton by Hilton Hotel. Ward Robinson was commissioned to design a contemporary and bespoke interior to the open plan ground floor public spaces and five floors of guest bedrooms, working to Hampton by Hilton brand standards.

The 128 bed hotel features a bright and open entrance reception area with a dramatic glass light fitting highlighting the impressive double-height space. Directly adjacent to the reception is the bar area which flows through into dining zones, lounge spaces and a guest business centre.

The carefully considered use of accent colours and lighting link the various zones together creating a cohesive and seamless design throughout. All of the zones include a variety of seating styles to cater for a range of guests and group sizes as well as create visual diversity across the space. The thoughtful selection of materials and details have incorporated nods towards the hotel’s locality, as requested by the client, Stockton Borough Council.

The result is a bright, welcoming and contemporary hotel which was officially opened to the public in February 2019.

Design for business transformation

Ward Robinson's workplace consultants, Annelise Tvergaard and Simon Grundy, have authored 'Design for business transformation'. This expert paper is aimed at a readership of business leaders and sets out the what, why and how design is used to enable and support transformation of practice to smart and agile working.

Team WR take on Tough Mudder!

This summer some of the Ward Robinson team have bravely volunteered to challenge their strengths and take part in this year’s Tough Mudder obstacle course. The team are going to run (or crawl) 10 miles through the mud with the aim of raising £1,000 for the charity ‘Feed My People’.

‘Feed My People’ was set up in 2010 by a member of the Ward Robinson team, Laura Bailey alongside fellow trustees Dr. Alice Caulker and Tricia Tear, with the aim to build a school for the children of Magburaka, Sierra Leone.

To help support this fantastic charity, our aim is to raise £1,000 to keep the school open for a whole month!  To read more about the support 'Feed My People' provides for the community in Sierra Leone and how our donation will help, follow the link below and please donate whatever you can to help us reach our goal.
